2023 Primitivo

The name Primitivo (“early one”) refers to its early-ripening nature. It seems Primitivo can’t hold itself back from a rush to the crush. Nello honors its gregarious ways and lets it become the delightfully brash and juicy thing Primitivo drives itself to be.  This Southern Italian cousin to Zinfandel is so genial and outgoing, you may not find a better companion for BBQed meats, robust pastas, even pizza. PAIRS well with intense flavors, ethnic spices, caramelized onion, fire-roasted peppers & veggies, baked beans. Intense bright and complex fruit, blueberry, red currant, fruity finish.  Deep garnet. Medium dry, medium body, & tannins.
